Colloidal Nanosilica, also known as silica sol, is a suspension containing fine, amorphous, porous, and mostly spherical silica particles dispersed in a liquid phase. In this suspension, silica nanoparticles are suspended in the liquid phase and are stabilized by the electrostatic method. Colloidal silica particles may be microporous (hole diameter less than 2 nm) or have no porosity, which is called dense. The range of particle sizes can vary widely or be limited based on the production method and conditions. In the following, some significant applications of colloidal nanosilica across various industries will be spotlighted.
